Very Windy Tuesday With Cooler Temperatures, 1-29-13

A High Wind Warning is in effect from noon until 6pm today for Eddy, Central and Southern Lea Counties, Gaines, Dawson, Andrews, Martin, Reeves, Pecos, Loving, Winkler, Ector, Midland, Ward, Crane, Upton and Pecos Counties.  West winds will be sustained between 35 and 45 mph with gust near 60 mph.  A Blowing Dust Advisory is also in effect meaning visibilites will be reduced and driving will be difficult.  A Wind Advisory is in effect for Scurry, Borden, Howard, Mitchell and Glasscock Counties for winds between 25 and 35 mph with gusts near 50 mph.  A Red Flag Warning is also in effect today, outdoor burning is not recommended and any fires that develop will quickly spread.

Temperatures will be in the 50s today and tomorrow.

Above average temperatures will return Thursday.
