MIDLAND COUNTY -- A Midland man is accused of breaking a 5-week-old baby's leg.

Jose Angel Rosado-Colon was arrested in Lubbock on January 28th.

Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter says that Rosado-Colon, 23, broke a 5-week-old baby's right femur sometime between 9 PM on January 27th and 1:30 AM on January 28th.

The incident occurred at a home in the 5000 block of West County Road 116 in Midland County.

The baby was rushed to the Emergency Room at Midland Memorial Hospital after the incident.

The child was later taken to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at a Lubbock hospital.

Midland County Sheriff's deputies determined that Rosado-Colon was caring for the child at the time the injury occurred, and Rosado-Colon was later arrested in Lubbock.

Now, Rosado-Colon is charged with injury to a child, which is a first degree felony.

As of Tuesday evening, Rosado-Colon was being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on $30,000 bond.
