The game of football may be changing.

The NFL is dealing with serious issues of player safety, especially concussions.

Now, the NFL and the players association are finalizing a deal to fund a 100 million dollar Harvard study... to "diagnose, treat and prevent injuries and illnesses" in players, according to a proposal obtained by CNN.

Doctors say what distinguishes this study is that it will look at the "whole player across his whole life, not just the brain."

The N-F-L said it looked forward to learning more about the study and hopes "it will play an important role in advancing medical science."
