MIDLAND---Cody Hollums is a professional rodeo bullfighter from Midland whose story has already touched the lives of many people.

On October 6th, 2012, Hollums was at an event in Lufkin that changes his life forever.

Hollums was saving a rider from a bull when the bull spun around, knocking Hollums to the ground.

Then it spun again and one the bulls rear legs hit Hollums in the head, putting him in a coma.

"I was in a coma for like a week or a week and a half" says Hollums "a medically induced coma".

After a few long and terrifying weeks, Hollums came out of his coma and showed signs on recovery.

"I had a horrible memory when I first got out of my coma" says Hollums "my short term memory was horrible and I had to gain that all back".

But Hollums' memory wasn't the only thing that was affected, he is now taking physical therapy classes twice a week at the COM Aquatics building in Midland to help with his physical recovery.

"Words can't describe what it's like to come home after the situation we went through" says Hollums, about his amazing fight to getting better.

Hollums is currently living with his girlfriends Britney and says that he is not looking at getting into bullfighting any time soon.
