Deputies Investigate Murder in Ector County

ODESSA -- Ector County Sheriff deputies are investigating a shooting that turned deadly Saturday evening.

Officials were dispatched to the 7300 block of Kentucky Avenue at 4:16 to a gunshot victim inside his trailer. Upon arrival deputies found 37-year-old Randy Brooks alive with at least one gunshot wound. Initial reports don't indicate where or how many times Brooks was shot.

Emergency crews transported Brooks to Medical Center Hospital, however just under three hours after his arrival, Brooks died.

Deputies on the scene questioned neighbors and witnesses in regards to the shooting. As of right now there are no suspects listed or suspect descriptions.

Officials are investigating this shooting as a murder and ask anyone with information contact the Ector County Sheriff's department at 335-3050.

The victim of the shooting that occurred on Kentucky Ave had died. He died at Medical Center Hospital at 6:55 p.m.

It is now being investigated as a murder.

The name of the victim is Randy Brooks Jr, a white male with a date of birth being 09/27/1975.

No suspects are in custody at this time and the investigation continues.

Anyone having information on this incident is asked to call the Ector County Sheriff's Office at 335-3050.

Ector County Sheriff's responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting victim in the 7300 block of Kentucky Avenue.

The call was received at approximately 4:16 p.m.

Upon arrival, the deputies located a white male in his mid 30's with a gunshot wound.

He was transported to Medical Center Hospital and his condition in unknown at this time.

At this time, it is believed he was alone in the residence at the time of the shooting.

Investigators are taking statements and talking to neighbors.

The CID officers are also on the scene documenting evidence.

No known suspects at this time.
