Piers Morgan to Hold Show at Texas Gun Range

CNN host Piers Morgan, who has been fiercely critical of U.S. gun laws since the elementary school killings in Connecticut, is bringing his show to Texas on Monday to debate gun policy.

He will host Monday's Piers Morgan Tonight live from a gun store and firing range in the Houston suburb of Katy. Tactical Firearms confirmed that Morgan will be arriving Monday to tape the show.

Attorney General Greg Abbott confirmed on Twitter that he would be debating gun policy with Morgan.

Rock musician Ted Nugent, an ardent gun rights advocate who stated that if President Obama were re-elected he would be "either dead or in jail," will also join Morgan on the show, according to a tweet Sunday by Morgan.

Following the murders of 20 children and six adults in December at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., Morgan brought the gun debate to the forefront of his show. Devoting numerous episodes to the issue, Morgan has become one of the staunchest supporters of President Obama's recent recommendations to curb gun violence. He has also made it known how he feels about gun rights advocates, once calling guest Larry Pratt, executive director of the Gun Owners of America, "an unbelievably stupid man."

Alex Jones, an Austin-based talk radio host, has also been a guest of the show and went on a tirade against Morgan in early January during an appearance.

The show will air Monday on CNN at 8 p.m. CST.
