MIDLAND -- A significant donation will allow more than 27,000 meals to go out to hungry West Texans.

JumBurrito donated $6,965 to the West Texas Food Bank on Tuesday.

The funds -- which came from JumBurrito's rewards program -- will be used for the West Texas Food Bank to provide more funds.

Every time a customer used their reward points, JumBurrito pledged a donation to the West Texas Food Bank.

JumBurrito has partnered its rewards program with the West Texas Food Bank for the past 3 years. JumBurrito says they raised $1,300 more in 2013 than they did in 2012.

However, JumBurrito is asking West Texans to help more if possible.

"Get out, get involved," JumBurrito area manager Brenda Knorr told Big 2. "Even though the holidays are over, there is still a need in our community. And we all need to go out and do what we can."

The West Texas Food bank covers 19 counties throughout West Texas. The West Texas Food Bank serves 180,000 different people a year by providing about 9 million meals annually.
