Saturday mail service will soon be a think of the past.
US Postal Service officials announced Wednesday it will stop delivering first-class mail on Saturdays but packages will be delivered.
The change, which goes into effect August 1st, is expected to save a few billion dollars.
The agency also plans to implement a number of other cost cutting measures.
Postal officials have been calling on Congress to pass legislation to ease their fiscal pain.
