MIDLAND COUNTY -- Texas Department of Public Safety troopers have identified a Big Spring man killed in a crash in southwest Midland County.

Justin Dogel died in the crash, which happened around 6:40 PM on February 6th.

Dogel, 39, was heading east on F.M. 1787 in a 2003 4-door  Ford F-150 when he collided with a 2012 Peterbilt and tanker trailer that was turning in front of him.

Troopers tell Big 2 that the 18-wheeler was turning left from the westbound lanes of F.M. 1787 onto the southbound lane of F.M. 1492 when the crash occurred.

The Ford pickup truck flipped over in the crash, while the 18-wheeler suffered minimal damage.

Dogel -- who hailed from Big Spring -- was pronounced dead at the scene at 7 PM on February 6th.

The driver of the 18-wheeler -- John Ray McGraw of Midland -- wasn't injured in the crash.

Trooper say that Dogel was wearing a seat belt.

As of Thursday evening, it remained unclear if any citations had been written for the crash.
