Someone told Permian High School officials that a 16-year-old student might have brought a weapon to school at around 8:30 AM Tuesday.
School administrators and E.C.I.S.D. Police quickly found the student and searched his backpack.
E.C.I.S.D. officials say that 2 Airsoft guns and pellets for the guns were in the backpack.
Police immediately confiscated the guns and pellets.
No students or staff were ever in danger during the incident, and the school day wasn't interrupted in any way.
E.C.I.S.D. officials say that the student won't face criminal charges, since Airsoft guns aren't considered weapons.
However, Airsoft guns and other toy guns aren't allowed on any E.C.I.S.D.campuses.
The student will now face disciplinary action according to the E.C.I.S.D. Student Code of Conduct.
