Senator John McCain of Arizona says he may have to go back on his promise not to filibuster Chuck Hagel's Defense Secretary nomination.

That's according to his spokesman.

McCain apparently wants to know if the President ever personally contacted the Libyan government during the attack on the U-S consulate in Benghazi.

He and other Republican senators have been trying to find out if President Obama attempted to get help for the Americans inside the compound.

Recently, McCain has said filibustering Hagel's nomination wasn't appropriate and he would oppose such a move.
