Transocean Pleads Guilty

A company behind that huge 2010 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico pleaded guilty to criminal charges today.

Transocean Deepwater Incorporated admitted to illegal conduct leading up to the oil spill disaster.

An explosion aboard the oil rig on April 20th, 2010 killed 11 people and sent approximately 205 million gallons of oil spilling into the Gulf of Mexico.

The company has been sentenced to pay 400-million dollars in criminal fines and penalties.
