Man Killed After Pickup Truck Runs Into Him Along Andrews Highway In Odessa

ODESSA -- A man dies after a pickup truck hits him along a busy Odessa street.
    
    The crash happened in the 3300 block of Andrews Highway (U.S. 385) around 8:30 PM on February 14th  .

    Odessa Police say that Israel Chavez was walking west to east across Andrews Highway when a white 2012 Dodge 3500 Dually pickup hit him in the outside northbound lane of Andrews Highway.

    Officials with the Ector County Medical Examiner's Office pronounced Chavez, 48, dead at the scene.

    Chavez's next of kin have been notified.

    The driver of the Dodge Dually -- Clinton S. Goodwin -- wasn't injured in the crash.

    No one else was in the pickup truck at the time of the crash

    Police say that the Dodge had a Texas registration.

    Officers say that no charges have been filed against Goodwin, 43, at this point.

    However, the crash remained under investigation Friday.
