Man Convicted Of 2012 Big Bend Burglary Sentenced To Prison

ALPINE -- A Big Bend burglar will call a Texas prison home for the next several years.

    Jurors in the 394th Judicial District Court sentenced Sergio Zapata Garcia to 6.5 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Division on February 15th.

    The sentence came down after Garcia was convicted of burglary of a habitation charges.

    Officials with the Brewster County Sheriff's Office say that the burglary occurred in 2012, but they haven't released more information on the incident.
