JAL, NM -- Jal (NM) Police are looking for a man who attacked an officer while he was being arrested.

Jal Police arrested Jesse Armando Tapia for outstanding parole violation warrants on February 17th.

The parole violation reportedly stemmed from a robbery that had taken place in California.

However,  police say that Tapia tried to run off as they were booking him into jail around 2:50 PM on February 17th.

An officer tasered Tapia to get him to stop.

However, Tapia reportedly pulled the taser prongs off himself and attacked the officer.

Tapia then allegedly ran away from the Jal Police station.

Officers say that Tapia is 5'10" tall and he weighs 185 pounds.

Tapia also has a Caliphas tattoo on the right side of his neck.

Police say that Tapia should be considered dangerous.

Anyone who sees Tapia should call the nearest law enforcement agency.
