BIG SPRING -- A water main break has affected water service to portions of Big Spring.

The City of Big Spring Utilities Department says that a 20 inch water main started to leak along Baylor Boulevard on Tuesday evening.

Utilities workers were working to repair the leak on Tuesday evening, but repairs were expected to last into the early morning hours.

While the repairs are ongoing, residents on the east side of Big Spring might have low or nonexistent water pressure.

The water main also services Coahoma and Sand Springs, so residents in eastern Howard County could also deal with low water pressure while the issue is being resolved.
