WARD COUNTY -- A crash has shut down the westbound lanes of Interstate 20 in Ward County.

TXDOT officials say that a vehicle with an oversized load hit an overpass at mile marker 53 on Interstate 20 around 4:30 PM Friday.

Crews had to close both westbound lanes of Interstate 20 and the Business 20 overpass in the area as they worked to clean up the wreck.

Westbound traffic on Interstate 20 was being diverted onto F.M. 516 in the area.

The closures were expected to last until about 9 PM Friday.
