Multi-Car Accidents Shuts Down Power In Odessa After Car Hits Utility Pole

ODESSA--Power has been restored to the area of 2nd Street and West County Road in Odessa following a multi-car accident.

Late Saturday night around nine, witnesses on the scene said a car ran into a utility pole ultimately causing a chain reaction wreck of several other cars. Witnesses said at least one person was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The crash knocked out power in the area. Police blocked off several entrances to the 2nd Street and WCR intersection and directed traffic to alternate routes.

Oncor was called out to the scene to work to restore power to the area. Several Odessa residents were without power through the night.

There is no word on what caused the accident.
