Those that attended got to see different forms of dance. However, the point of the event was to bring awareness to heart health and the importance of getting tested.
"We have several health screenings we have vendors from the community giving out health information. Odessa College students are here giving massages," said Candy Wright of MCH.
"And this is an even for women to help them stay proactive about their health about their good heart health," said the guest speaker LaDonna Gatlin.
Gatlin is an Odessa native and sister to the legendary group The Gatlin Brothers. At the event she also promoted her newly released book "The Song In You". Gatlin said the message in her book fits with the idea of being in control and keeping track of your health.
