High Winds Lead to Road Closures in Midland

By: City of Midland
Updated: February 25, 2013
The City of Midland's Transportation Division is closing Texas Avenue between Big Spring and Colorado Streets due to nearby damage and debris caused by high winds.

Police have also blocked off northbound traffic on Big Spring Street near the intersection of Front Street as a precautionary measure due to damage sustained to a nearby billboard sign.

Other street closures due to wind and debris have also occurred at the following locations:

1700 block of Morgan Way Mark Lane and Fairgate Drive

1500 block of Atlanta Street

1700 block of East Golf Course Road

Missouri between Dallas and Terrell

Officials are clearing debris as quickly as possible to ensure quick access to these roadways. Some stop signs, storage sheds and trampolines have been displaced due to high winds. Caution should be taken at all times while driving in high winds.
