MIDLAND--The Great Texas Warrant Roundup kicked off Saturday March 2. Law enforcement will be turning their attention to those with outstanding warrants and taking them to jail.

From February 24 through March 1, officials had been encouraging people to settle their warrants. There was even an incentive that would waive the $50 warrant fine.

In the roundup, officials will be picking up violators at any time in public, at their homes and even at their jobs.

The roundup is a cooperative effort between Texas law enforcement agencies in an effort to crack down on outstanding warrants for misdemeanor violations. Often times, many of the warrants are issued for failure to attend court or late payments on tickets.

For those that aren't caught by law enforcement, you can go to your local municipal court , however, to get the warrant removed the fees have to be paid in full.

Contact your local municipal office to find out if you have warrants.
