ALPINE -- An outgoing Alpine city councilman is looking to recall the city's mayor.

Carlos Lujan has announced that he's seeking to have Alpine Mayor Dr. Avinash Rangra recalled from his position.

Lujan has claimed that Rangra uses his office for personal gains and has no regards for people's privacy.

Lujan also reportedly mentioned a case where Rangra tried to remove a councilwoman from her seat because she wasn't living in her district.

However, other Alpine City Council members said that the councilwoman was staying with a friend on another side of town while she was dealing with a personal matter when Rangra allegedly took action against her.

The Big Bend Sentinel reports that Lujan is working with a group of Alpine residents on the recall motion.

Lujan reportedly is planning on pushing for the recall when he leaves office later this year.
