Conaway appeared at town hall meetings in Garden City and Colorado City on Friday.
During the meetings, Conaway discussed some big issues going on in Washington, D.C. -- including the sequester budget cuts.
Conaway told people at the Colorado City Lions Club that America has overextended itself -- and it will take some big spending cuts to get back on track.
"We've made promises to each other we cannot keep," Conaway told Big 2. "And when you make a promise you can't keep, the way you address that is that you go to the people you made the promise to and say 'Hey, that's not going to work. We're going to have to make a new promise.' Whether it's Medicare or Social Security or the other spending things that are going on, we have to renegotiate those."
Conaway said he will bring the thoughts of the town hall attendees back to Washington, D.C. with him.
