Midland, Midland County Certified As Storm Ready

MIDLAND -- Midland County is earning some accolades for its severe weather preparedness.

    Midland and Midland County are the first city-county combination in Texas to earn a Storm Ready designation.

    The National Weather Service awards the designation based on the information systems areas have in place to provide the best weather information to residents.

    Midland County was originally certified in 2012

    Midland County is now the first Texas county to be re-certified as Storm Ready.
