Malaga, NM Teen Killed In Industrial Accident

MALAGA, NM -- A Malaga, NM teen is killed in an industrial accident.

    The fatal incident occurred at 2:30 PM on March 15th.

    Eddy County, NM Sheriff Scott London says that Trenton R. Vazquez was loading a roll of 4" polypipe onto a flatbed truck along North Nicholas Road in Malaga when the 2000 pound pipe fell and crushed him.

    Vazquez, 16, was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Albuquerque, NM for an autopsy.

    The results of the autopsy were still pending Monday.

    The Eddy County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit continues to investigate the incident.
