Freight Train Hits Abandoned Pickup Truck Near Penwell

PENWELL -- A train plows into an abandoned pickup truck in Penwell.

    The incident happened along the train tracks near mile marker 99 of Interstate 20 around 5 AM Tuesday.

    Texas Department of Public Safety troopers tell Big 2 that a Union Pacific train plowed into a pickup truck that had gotten stuck on the tracks.

    No one was in the pickup truck by the time the train hit it, and no injuries were reported.

    Troopers haven't told Big 2 how the pickup truck ended up on the railroad tracks.
