Odessa Road Closed After Speeding Car Knocks Down Utility Pole

ODESSA -- A speeding driver his been cited, after he reportedly crashed a car into a utility pole in Odessa.

    Odessa Police say that Andrew Scott Johnson was speeding southbound in a 2003 Chevrolet Impala the 1300 block of West County Road around 12:25 AM Wednesday when he lost control of his vehicle.

    The Impala reportedly slid into a utility pole, which fell onto the roadway.

    TXDOT crews had to close West County Road between West 14th Street and Park Boulevard for about 12 hours as they removed the fallen pole.

    The roadway reopened around 1:15 PM on Wednesday.
    
    Meanwhile, Johnson, 26, got tickets for speeding and driving without proof of insurance and a driver license.

    No one was injured in the incident.
