Big Spring I.S.D. Set To Cancel May Elections

BIG SPRING -- Big Spring I.S.D. is expected to cancel its upcoming elections.
The district had been planning to hold elections for open board of trustee seats in May.
However, no one filed to challenge the incumbents in District 5 or District 6.
There are no candidates at all for the District 7 seat.
Since Big Spring I.S.D. has no contested races, Big Spring I.S.D. Board of Trustee members are expected to formally cancel the election at Thursday night's meeting.
Big Spring I.S.D. officials tell Big 2 that the trustee in District 7 will remain in their post until the Big Spring I.S.D. Board of Trustees can appoint a trustee to fill the seat.
