Onion Dip Bread Bowl

By: Amanda Campbell
Updated: January 21, 2011
1 Sour Dough bread round
1 large sweet onion, peeled and chopped
2 cups shredded Swiss Cheese
˝ cup mayonnaise

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Combine onion, swiss cheese and mayonnaise and mix well. Create a “bread bowl’ by removing the center of the bread round (reserve extra bread for dipping) and bread from the inner bowl area. Once you have removed the bread from the bowl area of the round, fill bread bowl with onion mixture and bake on a baking sheet for 15 minutes. Meanwhile cut reserve bread into bite size chunks. Place bread chunks around the bread bowl mixture on your baking sheet and continue to bake for another 10 minutes or until bread chunks are toasted and dip is melted thoroughly. Serve dip with toasted bread chunks and crackers.
