A very exciting evening at Midland International Airport as the world's youngest king arrives in West Texas. King Oyo of the Toro Kingdom of Uganda in East Africa arrived a little after 9 tonight. The King has only been to the U.S once before, but he decided to come back to visit some friends he met several years ago in Uganda. Gloria Young-Blood of Midland and her husband have been traveling to Uganda for the past 12 years for mission work. On one of those trips, they had the opportunity to meet King Oyo and Queen Mother Best. That was in 2004...and they've been friends ever since. During the King's 17 day visit, he'll speak to city leaders, businessmen, and churches. Mayor Perry will also honor the king tomorrow at 4:30 at city hall. And here's interesting fact about the King...at the age of three-and-a-half, he earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records as the youngest reigning monarch when his father died, giving him the throne.
