Accused Kidnapper Behind Bars

ODESSA -- At approximately 5:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a call where a female was taken by force from the parking lot of J.C. Penney.  Upon arrival officers were told by witnesses that a Hispanic male had forced a Hispanic female in a car and left west bound on 42nd Street. Officers contacted a subject who stated that the suspect and victim were in a common law marriage.  

Members of the Odessa Police Department “Person’s Crime” unit were called out to assist with this investigation. About an hour into the investigation, the victim called relatives.  Victim then talked to law enforcement and stated that she was “ok” and would be home shortly.  At about 8:01 p.m., the victim drove to a relative’s house where law enforcement was waiting.  The victim appeared to be in good condition.   

The suspect, Jonathan Trevino, D.O.B. 01-28-1990, was apprehended by Investigators at 564 Vicksberg without incident. Trevino was charged with kidnapping, felony 3rd degree and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. Trevino also had an outstanding warrant for Larceny, State Jail Felony from Lubbock, Texas.
