Summer Fun Activities to do in Midland

Are you looking for something fun to do this summer? Well maybe an event that happened over the weekend in Midland can entice you and your family to get involved, for the rest of the summer the Tall city is hosting a wide-range of fun activities for the whole family this weekend it was the “make a boat..hope it floats day’. The event was held at the Doug Russell Aquatic Center. Kids were encourage to come out and race their hand-made cardboard boats across the water.    

The City of Midland has a lot more activities planned for the summer...

•  July 15th, Archery at Butler Park, 3801 Bluebird Lane, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
•  July 16th, Frisbee Golf at Cowden Park, 1100 Ward Street, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
•  July 17th, Build-a-Boat and Hope it Floats! Cardboard boat races, Doug Russell Aquatic Center, 900 N. Midland Drive, 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Pool Admission Cost $1 per person.
•  July 19th-22nd, FREE BMX Clinics at Reyes-Mashburn-Nelms Park, 2101 E. Cuthbert Avenue, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
•  July 19th - 29th, Swim Lessons at Doug Russell Aquatic Center, 900 N. Midland Drive. 30-minute sessions available from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., $30 per session.
•  July 22nd, Movie in the Park, The Blind Side, at Butler Park, 3801 Bluebird Lane, 8:30 p.m.
•  July 23rd, Frisbee Golf at Cowden Park, 1100 Ward Street, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
•  July 24th, BMX Racing at Reyes-Mashburn-Nelms Park, 2101 E. Cuthbert Avenue, 6:00 p.m. (Free to watch, admission cost to race)
•  July 25th, Pirate Day at Washington Park Family Aquatic Center, 1803 E. Indiana Avenue, all day. Pool Admission Cost $1 per person.
•  July 30th, Live Music at Centennial Plaza, local performers, open mic, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., FREE
•  July 31st, Live Music at Reyes-Mashburn-Nelms Park, 2101 E. Cuthbert Avenue, 7:00 p.m., FREE
•  July 31st - August 1st, West Texas BMX State Championship Qualifiers at Reyes-Mashburn-Nelms Park, 2101 E. Cuthbert Avenue.
