Oil Truck Accident Sends One To Hospital

An oil truck driver was rushed to the hospital after getting in an accident along Interstate 20 in Midland early Friday afternoon.
Police say a Basic Energy truck was heading eastbound on I-20 when its left front tire blew out somewhere between the Loop 250 and Midkiff exits. The truck veered to the left, crossing the westbound lanes and the frontage road before rolling into a field.
The truck driver was thrown from the vehicle in the crash. He was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital. His condition is not known at this time.
TXDOT shut down the north frontage road for hours so they could clean up the wreck.
