Habitat Starts Work on 100th Midland Home

It's been a huge week for Habitat for Humanity as they started construction on their 100th home in the Tall City. The volunteers who are helping them are making the week even more special.
Volunteer Jacob Zhang came to the U.S. from China three years ago to attend college in Dallas. He's in Midland this summer  interning at a local baptist church and volunteering for Habitat.
"I think the volunteer system in the U.S. is very unique," said Zhang. "I think it's one of the charming pieces of U.S. culture.
"In China, we don't really have a good volunteer system, and this is one thing we should learn. "
The first time Zhang ever volunteered for Habitat was in china, so being able to be part of midland's 100th home is very exciting.
