Sunday, a BBQ benefit took place to raise money for a little girl from Odessa.
Abigail Hendrix was born with a Spina Bifida, a disease that's left her paralyzed from the lower abdomen down. Friends and family got together earlier today to raise money for her hospital bills and for future medical expenses. The benefit included live music, an auction, and all the food you could eat. Her family said they were pleased with the turnout, and are thankful for all the support.
"Everybody's been great. It's just so great that people can come together like this and do such wonderful things. People have been praying for Abigail since before she was even born, and everything's just working wonderfully," says Abigail’s Father, Kody Hendrix.
Donations can still be made at the Complex Community Federal Credit Union. The number on that account is 183283. The family asks that you make checks payable to Christina Baker.
