MARTIN COUNTY -- Around 8:00am Thursday morning there was an explosion in the oilfield that left two workers with burns to 80% of their bodies.

This all happened near CR 3900 and FM 26.

Ashley Borgstedte, the Emergency Management Coordinator for Martin County, tells permianbasin360.com that men from Basic Energy were working on a pumpjack.

At that time a gas pocket was released and got sucked into the diesel truck, which ignited.

Two employees suffered serious burns, and were flown to University Medical Center in Lubbock.

OSHA has been called about the explosion, and they are heading to the scene now to being investigating.
