ODESSA -- Last Friday, August 20th, arrest warrants were issued in Newton County for 2 counts of Sexual Assault of a Child against Ace Allen Kretzer Sr.
Newton County is located on the eastern border of Texas with Louisiana, just east of Beaumont. According to reports, the victims of the assaults were two little girls, ages 7 and 9.
The Newton County Sheriff’s office requested assistance from the U.S. Marshals in Beaumont to locate and apprehend Kretzer. U.S. Marshals began a fugitive investigation, and learned that Kretzer may have a girlfriend living in the Odessa area.
The Beaumont Marshals contacted the Midland U.S. Marshal’s Office, and investigators began checking the area for the girlfriend in Odessa. On August 25th, Investigators found that the girlfriend was living in Odessa, across the street from Goliad Elementary School, and then conducted surveillance of the residence.
During the surveillance, Marshals observed Kretzer as he walked out of the house and over to the school, apparently to pick up his girlfriend’s kids as school was letting out.
Marshals also contacted ECISD Police, and they quickly responded to ensure that other children were not in any danger and to inform school administration officials as to what was taking place.
U.S. Marshals and ECISD did not want to attempt an arrest while other children were in the area, and the officers maintained sight of Kretzer as he walked his girlfriend’s children back to her house. This is when officers took action and surrounded the house, making sure that any and all school children were clear from the area.
Marshals and ECISD Police knocked on the door of the residence and had the girlfriend remove her children from the residence, and then met with Kretzer at the front door, who was quickly arrested without incident.
