A fire at a strip mall caused some frustration Thursday.
The blaze happened at the Colonnade Shopping Center on Garfield and Loop 250 in Midland after Compton and Boren Orthodontics reported smelling smoke.
When firefighters arrived, they found an electrical short in the panel, so Oncor had to shut down power to the rest of the shopping center. A short time later the power was restored, and things were back to normal Friday.
