When the manager of the Southern Velle's Restaurant in Midland arrived to work Monday morning, she was greeted with a surprise. Only, this surprise wasn't a good one.

Graffiti, and it's all over the front of the building. The manager of the Southern Velle, Lillie Jones, told Big 2 news business is running as usual, but she's concerned this graffiti might be gang related.

"It's terrifying, we don't know when it's coming from or why it's on our wall this is a restaurant, this is a place of business," says Jones.

Another concern is that they've been vandalized before.

"No, I don’t think it’s a personal attack on us, not at all we're not gang related around here," explains Jones.

After examining the graffiti, Sgt. Clements couldn’t find any hidden gang signs or symbols. "It appears to be a tager, it doesn't appear to be gang related," says Clements.

Despite what happened, the Southern Velle is open for business and their working with the city to get the graffiti cleaned up.

The city actually has a graffiti abatement program that helps people get rid of unwanted graffiti on their property. That number is 432.685.7410.
