“I thought it was going to be the last day of my life,”
said Fierro.
The insects covered his body from head to toe. He was stung
on the chest, both arms, his back, and face.
“I prayed to escape but I couldn’t escape,” he said.
Fierro was working in his son’s yard, when he accidentally
stepped in a hole, and an army of bees swarmed him.
"I was screaming. I was screaming at God. I was screaming
at my mom and at my dad," Fierro tells Big 2 News.
Luckily his son, Octavio Garcia, was home and heard him
screaming.
"I got a t-shirt and I started hitting the bees with a
t-shirt, but they started attacking me," Garcia explained to Big 2 News.
Garcia was stung about 250 times. But Garcia said he didn’t
feel any of bees stinging him because his primary concern was to save his dad’s
life.
"I turned the water well on and I started squirting water with water well hose, and that's how I got them off of him," said Garcia.
This
family hopes their story serves as a reminder that people need to be extra
cautious in their yards.
