Students across the Basin paid their respects for all of those who lost their lives in the attacks on 9/11/01.
At Bush Elementary, students gathered around the flagpole for a moment of silence and to say the pledge of allegience. After that students released ballons with messages tied on to them.
"Most of our students - a lot of them were not even born when the tragedy on 9/11 occurred," Bush Principal Bonnie Smith told Big 2. "It's something throughout the day today, we'll give them a timeline of events of what occurred during that day. This is history for them."
Sixth graders also read a touching poem entitled "The Eleventh of September."
