By: Dylan Brooks
Updated: September 13, 2010

Hispanic Heritage Month officially kicks off this Wednesday.
On Monday, LULAC held a press conference to announce everything they have scheduled for this year. The organization has a series of events planned to highlight the contributions Hispanics have made to Odessa over the years. They'll also recognize those individuals who continue to serve the community.
"There's different functions that's going on throughout the month," State Farm agent Filiberto Gonzalez told Big 2. "For instance, this weekend we're going to have the parade that's going to run from Odessa College all the way to 10th."
Gonzalez added that there are more events planned throughout the end of Hispanic Heritage Month on October 15th.
