An artist with ties to Midland is set to open an exhibit here in the Permian Basin.
Joyce Howell's paintings will be on display at the Museum of the Southwest starting Friday.
Howell raised a family in the Tall City before getting a Masters of Fine Arts degree from Texas Tech. She now lives in Kingsland, where she has a studio on the Colorado River. She says her work is rooted in nature and based on instinct.
The exhibit will be on display at the museum until October 24th
