A few months ago, Big 2 ran some stories about a movie that was being shot in Midland called Open When Johnny Can Read. Big 2's Jay Plyburn had the chance to be in some of the scenes.
The movie is still in post production, but the first teaser trailer recently became available. It's the story of a girl named Wendy, played by local actress Venus Monique, as she takes a new job at a small landscaping company.
Wendy learns about a letter written by her new employers dying father, and she finds herself descending deeper and deeper into his world of beauty and darkness.
There is no word yet on if any screenings will take place in the Permian Basin, but the film is expected to be released this fall. For more about Open When Johnny Can Read, visit the official website, www.johnnysletter.com.
