On October 18th early voters in Andrews will hit the polls. One hot issue on the ballot: the sell of alcohol. Voters will be voting on two options. The first, the sell of alcohol in connivance stores. The second, the sell of alcohol in local restaurants. One, both or none could pass. And, as Big 2 news found out in Andrews, the community stands divided on the issue.
Both sides saying safety is their big concern. Those for the sell of alcohol, think people in Andrews will be safer because there will be less drunk driving accidents. Those who want to drink have to go to Midland or Odessa and they run into the risk of consuming too much and then drive home. However those against the sell of alcohol say if this passes, then Andrews will have to deal with a lot more drunk drivers locally.
On a side note, this isn't the first time this alcohol issue has been on the ballot and it's never passed before.
