A popular video rental store has been beat out by the competition. Now, it's gone bankrupt too.
Blockbuster Video filed for Chapter 11 protection yesterday, and hundreds of stores are expected to close nationwide. Companies such as Red Box and Netflix offer more convenient means of renting videos, and have posed a threat to Blockbuster for years.
Despite being bankrupt, local Blockbuster stores will not be closing their doors. They might be affected by the bankruptcy in the future, but for the time being, they will continue work as normal.
