The Midland City Council considered building regulations during their meeting Tuesday.
Every three years, the city updates the building code to stay up-to-date with cities across the U.S. Among other things, the new code regulates and controls the design, construction, and quality of materials.
The ordinance was approved by the council.
"We hope that we have safer, more energy efficient buildings. And educating our builders to those effects," Midland mayor Wes Perry told Big 2.
The city also hopes that staying up to date will attract builders to our area.
