All was quiet in Austin Wednesday, a day after a University of Texas student opened fire on campus with an AK-47.
Sophomore Colton Tooley fired shots with the high powered rifle in the Perry Castaneda Library yesterday morning. He then turned the gun on himself, as the campus remained locked down and in a frenzy.
"The sirens started going off, said U.T. freshman Felipe Revuelta. "The PA system started going off and everything got real serious really fast."
The library re-opened early Wednesday morning, and classes resumed on campus. The U.T. Police Department says extra officers would be in and outside the library for added security.
