A high number of suicides among Fort Hood soldiers prompted the post's senior commander to talk about what needs to be done to stop the trend.
There have been 14 confirmed suicides on post,  with six other suspected cases this year alone. That's almost double last years suicide rate.
"I think this is all about leadership and continuing to prosecute very engaged and in some cases intrusive leadership out there with our soldiers," said Major General William Grimsley. "The more we know about them, the we can help them."
Major General Grimsley also said continued re-deployment could be contributing to the number of suicides.
