A scary situation in Big Spring after a forensic patient at the state hospital escapes. That patient is also facing medical charges.
Christopher Sean Arreola was arrested in Muleshoe in August, and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Police tell us that while he was in the Bailey County Jail, he tried to kill himself. So he was sent to the Big Spring State Hospital as a forensic patient.
On Wednesday, Arreola escaped the hospital after being picked up by someone. He was apparently in the courtyard, and snuck past the employees.
A warrant for his arrest has been issued. Police think he might be heading towards Hobbs, NM where his girlfriend lives. If anyone sees him, they should call police.
